"I Could Have Danced All Night"

I don't have much to say here; I just love this song from "My Fair Lady" and it's currently running through my head. I really miss dancing; it is a crucial part of my self-expression to which I do not currently have access. I grew up studying ballet, and never wanted to stop. My back and bipolar kept me away. I took up ballroom dancing several years ago, and became proficient relatively quickly. I'd like to compete, and pursue it more seriously, but I don't know where to go for training.

Just for fun, since that song is from "My Fair Lady," here is a link to the Internet Movie Database.

And, speaking of dancing, here is a link to my favorite ballroom dance place in the SF Bay Area, the Starlite Ballroom in Sunnyvale. They have a huge dance floor and lots of lessons. People are generally quite friendly, although there are some characters. One guy, for example, wears a dreaful toupée and makes a point of driving his Lamborghini or Ferrari or whatever the hell it is--it looks like a red spaceship--right up to the front door and making a show of opening the doors, which of course open straight upward, rather than outward, the way most cars do.

Since I'm having so much fun with links, now that I know how to insert them into the text, here's a link to Lamborghini's site. This will likely interest only my male readers, if that!

This image, of course, is Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady." It's one of my all-time favorite scenes from any film. I was enchanted when I saw the film for the first time, and wanted to grow up to be just like her in this scene.
