We Are Human

it's how we deal with it that matters. had a long talk over lunch with misrak about racism. she has a lot to say, and a lot to deal with. she talked about the appalling attitude of a woman she recently worked with. it's very eye-opening to hear "the other side of the story," i.e. a person of color talking about being on the receiving end of racism. it's heartbreaking and horrifying, and an education in itself. lots of work remains to be done.

It is human to err
It is divine to forgive

The kinder we are to ourselves
the kinder we can be towards others

Hate & prejudice are born of ignorance. Those who are truly enlightened are not entangled by such limited & limiting human emotions and world views

and how do you reach [toward] enlightenment

where does enlightenment end and detachment begin? is this "enlightenment" of which you speak simply a way of avoiding feelings? are you happily married or in a rewarding relationship with someone your own age?

Relativity:
what is good for one,
doesn't work for another

Enlightenment:
the not hankering or yearning
for money, power, company or love

You can have someone in your bed and still be alone.
In fact most people dive into relationships rather than be alone

But if you rush into things
most find they do not sparkle
so bright the morning after

If you venture 'open minded' into relationships then you cannot be disappointed

If you are not in a rush for companionship, and not afraid of being left alone - then companionship will find YOU!!!
